This is an old revision of the document!
In the past, iViewer licensing used the physical hardware device ID. Apple has decided to no longer allow iOS applications to access this ID, so we have been forced to update our licensing system to use our own software-generated device ID.
For all device registrations, you must get the new Device ID. The ID that is shown in iTunes will no longer work for our licensing system.
The new Device ID format is as follows:
********-****-****-****-************
- 36 characters including hyphens.
Where each asterisk represents a number or uppercase character.
For example: 69C77487-7041-3DC2-9F95-F63A0A5B8FC4
.
There are three options to get the new ID:
We recommend using method 1 above, as this does not require any copy/pasting, so less chance of error. But if for some reason you need to get the ID through another method, you can follow these steps below to retrieve your Device ID via email:
emailid.commandfusion.com
If for some reason the GUI is not loading, please make sure you fully close iViewer first to ensure it is not running in the background.
